Welcome Aboard! This package takes us to beautiful Pirates Cove on De Courcy Island. On our way to De Courcy Island, enjoy the beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife that inhabit the area. Bring something to grill and make yourself a delicious meal on our deck mounted BBQ. We can also deploy Crab and/or Prawn traps to soak while we continue our journey to Pirates Cove on De Courcy Island! Pirates Cove is known for its beautiful hiking trails, amazing views, and abundance of sea life and birds. With more than 75 acres of area to explore and 5 kms of easy hiking trails, your time on De Courcy will not disappoint! Many marine mammals including Harbour seals, Steller and California sea lions inhabit De Courcy Island. If you're lucky, you might encounter Harbour porpoises or orcas, as well as humpback and gray whales in the summer! River otters also spend time in the park but are mostly seen in the early morning. The park also boasts a beach that is great for spending time catching some Gulf Island sun while you watch for whales and other marine life that inhabit the area. Spend some time exploring the shorelines on one of our Stand-up Paddleboards included with your adventure. You can also just sit back, relax and enjoy yourself on the Jenmar while anchored in Pirates Cove. De Courcy island has extensive natural and cultural history. There are middens in the park that indicate First Nations use of the land dating back more than 3,000 years ago. Also, it was the homestead for the Aquarian Foundation, a religious cult led by Brother XII, who convinced 8,000 followers to give up all their possessions and follow him to De Courcy Island in the 1920s and early 1930s. -Included: 2 Stand up paddleboards (kayak seat kit) Refreshments (Water, Sparkling Juices, Soda) -Max 6 passengers -Rates in CAD for the boat for the day (including up to 6 guests) 6 hours - $995 8 hours - $1195 +Tax -Add ons: $50 per extra paddleboard per day (max 2) $30 per Crab trap (min 3) (Max 6) $30 per Prawn Trap (min 3) (Max 8) -We recommend a minimum of 3 traps per species. -All persons onboard the Jenmar must have Valid BC tidal fishing Licenses for fishing, prawning and crabbing which can be purchased at:https://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/rec/licence-permis/application-eng.html -Fishing, prawning and crabbing is subject to Local closures and current fishing regulations, please contact Captain Trav if you have any questions, thank you!
